ISTANBUL - Mirsad Turkcan, a successful player of national basketball team and Montepaschi Siena team of Italy, was nominated among 12 Euroleague stars, that will face Real Madrid in the beginning of the 2002-2003 season in the Euroleague.
The game will combine two celebrations, the 100th anniversary of Real Madrid, and the beginning of the 2002/2003 season in the Euroleague, that will keep off in the second week of October.
Zeljko Obradovic, coaching Greek team Panathinaikos, will be the coach of the team.
The 12 players are: Mirsad Turkcan (Montepaschi Siena), Dejan Bodiroga (Barcelona), Juan Carlos Navarro (Barcelona), Luis Scola (Tau Ceramica), Frederic Weis (Unicaja), Nikola Vujcic (Maccabi Tel Aviv), Gur Shelef (Maccabi Tel Aviv), Fragikos Alvertis (Panathinaikos), Arriel McDonald (Panathinaikos), Mihalis Kakiouzis (AEK Athens), Tyus Dwayne Edney (Benetton Treviso), Marcelo Nicola (Benetton Treviso).
