ANKARA - Higher Election Board (YSK) Chairman Tufan Algan said on Friday that future of the states would be endangered in case legislation is politicized, stressing that, ''we take our decisions within the fundamental principles of law.''
When Algan was reminded some statements which appeared in today's newspapers attributing to him that said, ''spirit of War of Independence and Canakkale will be considered in Erdogan decision,'' he said the journalists asked him what could happen in case the jurisdiction is politicized.
Stressing that he pointed out the importance of carrying out assignments in line with the Constitution and the laws, Algan said, ''I said the states could rescue if everybody fulfills his duties in line with the Constitution and the fundamental principles of the laws. I don't have any information regarding its misinterpretation.''
When asked whether or not Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan started an action which contradicts with the soul of War of Independence and Canakkale, Algan said this was not in question.
Algan said it was not possible for the states only by winning wars, stressing that he stated the importance of carrying out assignments in line with the Constitution and the laws in future of the states.
