Sezer: I Am Not Warm To Idea Of Change Of Government Before Nov. 3

ANKARA - President Ahmet Necdet Sezer said on Thursday that he is not warm to the idea of change of government before Nov. 3, by when the elections will be held.
Responding to questions of journalists asking if he was warm to the idea of change of government before Nov. 3, President Sezer said that ''no, I am not warm to that idea.''
Sezer responded to questions before new Turkmen Ambassador to Turkey Annagurban Asýrov submitted him his letter of confidence.
Upon a question about scenarios of postponing the elections, Sezer said that ''I don't think that the elections will be postponed. I expect deputies to protect the respectability of the parliament more than everybody and I believe that respectability of the parliament won't be overshadowed. Leaders of political party leaders will act in a sensitive way. I believe that.''
When reminded about the application of MHP to Constitutional Court for annulment of EU laws, Sezer said that he can't make comment before a decision is adopted by the court.
When asked how he would charge ministers within the new government if the existing government ends, Sezer said that there are democratic traditions. ''We will act in line with these traditions,'' he said.
Sezer later received the new Turkmen Ambassador to Turkey.
