ANKARA - New Turkey Party (YTP) leader Ismail Cem said on Sunday that if Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal wanted to come together with him so much, he could join YTP.
Cem responded to questions at a tv programme in private CNN Turk channel.
Cem who assessed Baykal's statements on unification in left quoted Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit as saying that the call of Baykal who invited him to come and join CHP and give up politics in CHP was also very improper. Cem said that he agreed with Ecevit on that issue.
Cem who recalled the calls of Baykal said, ''those calls were made by knowing that Democratic Left Party (DSP) and YTP will not accept them. Baykal aims to use those calls for election purposes.''
When reminded about the rumors saying that YTP would cooperate with Freedom and Solidarity Party (ODP) and Socialist People's Party (SHP), Cem said that there was no such cooperation.
Cem said, ''we have talks with Democrat Turkey Party (DTP). This is beneficial for the two parties.''
