DIYARBAKIR - Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan's record of convictions was cleared off on Friday.
Diyarbakir State Security Court (DGM) no: 4 debated application of Erdogan's lawyer, and decided to clear off Erdogan's record of convictions.
Erdogan was sentenced to ten months in prison and 716 million Turkish liras in fine on April 21, 1998, on charges of opposing the Article 312 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK).
In line with the amendment made in the Article 312 of the TCK, Erdogan's lawyer Hayati Yazici applied to the Diyarbakir DGM no: 4, and requested the court to clear off his client's record of convictions.
