Germany Ranked First In Turkey's Foreign Trade

ANKARA - Germany ranked the first in Turkey's foreign trade in the first half of this year.
Turkey raised an income of 2 billion 616 million 623 thousand U.S. dollars from its exports to Germany while it imported goods worth of 2 billion 755 million 642 thousand U.S. dollars from this country between January and July 2002.
According to figures of State Statistics Institute, Turkey's total imports were around 21 billion 462 million 952 thousand U.S. dollars while its exports amounted to 15 billion 872 million 10 thousand U.S. dollars in the first half of this year.
Italy followed Germany in Turkey's imports with 1 billion 727 million 157 thousand U.S. dollars. Russia was ranked the third among countries where Turkey made importation with 1 billion 548 million 876 thousand U.S. dollars. Then came the United States, with 1 billion 399 million 876 thousand U.S. dollars, and France, with 1 billion 273 million 548 thousand U.S. dollars.
The United States followed Germany in Turkey's exports with 1 billion 511 million 318 thousand U.S. dollars. Britain was ranked the third among countries where Turkey was exporting its products in the mentioned period with 1 billion 256 million 627 thousand U.S. dollars. Then, came Italy with 1 billion 77 million 345 thousand U.S. dollars.
The main product that Turkey exported in the first half of this year was knitted textile. Turkey obtained 2 billion 34 million 248 thousand U.S. dollars from its exports.
In the same period, Turkey raised 1 billion 509 million 780 thousand U.S. dollars of income from unknitted textile exports, 1 billion 393 million 800 thousand U.S. dollars from vehicle and spare part exportation, 1 billion 215 million 26 thousand U.S. dollars from electrical device exports.
Turkey imported fuel worth of 3 billion 925 million 443 thousand U.S. dollars, machine and mechanized devices worth of 3 billion 72 million 47 thousand U.S. dollars, electrical devices and machines worth of 1 billion 898 million 212 thousand U.S. dollars and plastics worth of 1 billion 35 million 792 thousand U.S. dollars in the first half of this year.
