ANKARA - Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) leader Jalal Talabani came to Ankara on Friday.
Responding to questions of reporters, Talabani said that he was happy to come to Ankara again.
Talabani noted that he would inform Turkish officials about the meeting of Iraqi opposition groups held in Washington D.C.
Asked about the news that the United States assured PUK that Turkey and Iran would not intervene in the region in a probable operation on Iraq, Talabani said that such news were not accurate and those were propagandas made against Turkey.
When asked about the statements of National Defense Minister Sabahattin Cakmakoglu, Talabani said that the United States told them that Turkey and Iraq would not intervene in internal affairs of Iraq.
Talabani will start holding contacts in Ankara on Monday.
