ERZURUM - Degerli Inc. Executive Board Chairman Nurullah Degerli claimed that Iran was profiting from the sanctions Turkey is imposing on Armenia.
Degerli Inc. Executive Board Chairman Nurullah Degerli who issued a written statement about his observations in Armenia, stated that Iran profits from Armenia's foreign trade because of the sanctions Turkey imposes on Armenia.
Degerli underlined that Armenia has a low production therefore it is depending on foreign countries in trade and added that Armenia was a great market for Turkish businessmen.
Degerli also stated that besides Iran, Georgia also had a share from Armenia's foreign trade. He explained that they reached Yerevan in 22 hours because of a number of problems they faced in Georgia although they could reach there much more quickly from Igdir. ''We had to bribe local officials in Georgia although we were officially visiting. All these problems will be solved once we sign a trade agreement with Armenia,'' he said.
Degerli said that Armenian businessmen are also aware of these problems and added that it is necessary to start trade activities between the two countries.
