ESKISEHIR - Osmangazi University (OGU) Rector Prof. Dr. Necat A. Akgun said on Saturday that OGU Folk Dances Group would attend the Turkish Festival to be organized in the United States between October 1 and 10, 2002.
Holding a press conference, Prof. Dr. Akgun said that the folk dances group formed within the structure of Folklore Research and Practice Center (HAMER), represented the Osmangazi University by attending many festivals both in Turkey and abroad.
Prof. Dr. Akgun recalled that the group attended MISS 48 International Folk Dances Festival in Ruoti-Potenza, and International Folk Dances Festival in Marcellina-Scalea, Italy, between July 30 and August 13.
''Our folk dances group will leave for the United States as the guest of Texas Turkish-American Association, and attend the Turkish Festival between October 1 and 10,'' he added.
