ANTALYA - Turkish businessmen from southern province of Antalya, will attend the Tourism Fair in Mashhad, Iran.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Saturday that nearly 100 hotel kepeers and representatives of travel agencies from Antalya were invited to attend the Tourism Fair to be opened in Mashhad.
A total of 26 representatives of Iranian travel agencies attended last year's MEDITT Antalya Tourism Fair. In return, Iran invited Turkish hotel keepers and representatives of travel agencies to Mashhad.
Following the MEDITT Tourism Fair, tourism traffic between Turkey and Iran has accelerated, and charter flights have been organized from Iran to Antalya.
The Tourism Fair will be opened in Mashhad on August 23, and will remain open for eight days.
Turkish businessmen will leave for Iran on August 26.
Meanwhile, number of Iranian tourists visiting Turkey increased by 27 percent in the first half of 2002.
Number of Iranian tourists increased from 150 thousand in the first six months of 2001 to 191 thousand in the same period this year.
