ANKARA - European Investment Bank re-arranged the loan for the finance of Marmara Quake Emergency Aid and Reconstruction Project.
A statement of Treasury Undersecretariat said on Thursday that an agreement was signed as an assurance to transfer of 74.3 million Euros to Halk Bank on October 16, 2001. The money would be used as a source to support small and medium sized enterprises.
Treasury noted that the re-arrangement enabled the use of investment and management loan also by manufacturer firms which make exportation without a contract agreement. The loan aimed at serving the needs of the economic conditions of the day. The loan can also be used by a wider industrial sector thanks to this new arrangement.
In its statement, the Treasury said, ''when the fact that the loan covers a vast area and the fact that there are many sectors which can benefit from this finance are taken into consideration, it is expected that the re-arranged loan will serve elimination of investment and management difficulties of the real sector and contribute to economic revival by ensuring added-value and employment.''
