ANKARA - Acting Parliament Speaker Murat Sokmenoglu said on Tuesday that confiscation of Turkmen real properties with false documents would not be allowed.
Sokmenoglu told A.A correspondent that, ''the incidents developing near our geography creates uneasiness in the Parliament. It is a negligence to ignore that the first step, pertaining to formation of federation in Northern Iraq, was taken on August 13 as Turkey opposes to the formation of this federation with the concerns that it will pave ways for an independent Kurdish state in the future.''
Sokmenoglu said it should be seen that Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), led by Massoud Barzani, and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) leader Jalal Talabani met in Northern Iraq and took a step toward formation of a federated state.
Sokmenoglu said, ''it is known by everybody that those parties launched efforts for Kurdistan draft constitution, Kurdistan Supreme Court, and election of joint government and parliament speaker in rotation.''
He said the Kurdish groups in question started to exchange views even about the oath which the parliaments will take in the parliament, and noted that, ''we feel concern over the tip off that those groups will re-convene on Wednesday again to reach a compromise.''
Pointing out that efforts to make Turkey come face to face with a fait accompli was the indication of a very dangerous game, Sokmenoglu said, ''I would like to remind once again that we should be very careful on Iraq and Cyprus.''
Sokmenoglu said, ''shall we keep silent against the efforts of Barzani, who announced oil city Kirkuk as a Kurdish province, to confiscate Turkmen real properties with false documents? As Turkmen front verified that Barzani accelerated the policy to daunt Turkmens in the recent period, we can never allow confiscation of real properties with false documents. It is a shame that Turkmens were not included in the meeting of the opposition groups in the United States.''
