IGDIR - A delegation including 41 businessmen from Kars, Ardahan, Erzurum and Igdir who went to Armenia with the initiatives of Igdir Chamber of Trade and Industry began to hold contacts in Yerevan on Tuesday.
Igdir Chamber of Trade and Industry Chairman Tayyar Oral told the A.A that the opening of the border gates which would contribute a lot to the development of the commercial relations came onto the agenda during the meeting with Turkish-Armenian Business Council Cochairman Armen Gazelyan.
Oral who recalled that Turkey and Armenia did not make border trade said, ''we know that the trade which Armenia and Georgia are making over Iran is about 50 million U.S. dollars. The businessmen of the two countries had big economic loss because of the embargo which has been imposed since 1992. Both countries should launch political initiatives to decrease the economic loss to the lowest level. Border gates can be opened to service after the meetings.''
Oral said that the meetings between Turkish and Armenian businessmen were continuing and added that they would return to Turkey two days later.
