Bathrobe Exports From Bursa Fall 42.3 Percent

BURSA - Bathrobe exports from Bursa province fell 42.3 percent in the first seven months of this year.
According to figures of Uludag Exporters Association, Bursa obtained 2 million 829 thousand U.S. dollars from its bathrobe exports between January and July 2002. It had raised 4 million 907 thousand U.S. dollars from its exports in the same period last year.
Towel exports from Bursa decreased 2.1 percent from 2 million 374 thousand to 2 million 324 thousand U.S. dollars in the mentioned period.
Cotton bathrobes for men and boys was ranked the first in bathrobe exports from Bursa with 1 million 158 thousand U.S. dollars. Cotton bathrobes for women and girls followed men's and boys' bathrobes with 891 thousand U.S. dollars.
Bathrobes and towels were mainly exported to the United States and European Union (EU) countries.
