ANKARA - President Ahmet Necdet Sezer received Sureyya Ayhan who won the gold medal in the 18th European Athletics Championship.
Ayhan was accompanied by Youth and Sports Deupty Director Nuri Demirci, Athletics Federation Chief Huseyin Yildirim, Athletics Federation Secretary General Ayhan Ilhanli and her coach Yucel Kop.
During the meeting, Sezer stated that young athletes in Turkey have to be supported and he asked sport organization executives to extend moral and financial support to Ayhan.
Sezer also asked Ayhan about her future plans. He also presented Ayhan a cup for her success.
