Dervis Meets Disk Chairman Celebi

ANKARA (A.A) - 14.08.2002 - Suleyman Celebi, the Chairman of Confederation of Revolutionary Workers` Unions (DISK), said on Wednesday that it totally depended on the political parties to make alliance in the left, stressing that, ``whoever can take steps in the left for alliance, should take it. We will follow those steps.``
Celebi visited Dervis in his office in Gaziosmanpasa district.
When a journalist asked if he brought a message from Republican Peoples Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal, Celebi said messages of Baykal and Dervis were open, stressing that he did not have such an obligation.
Celebi said, ``I continue my efforts to provide unity in the left. We will have contacts with other parties. We have a general assembly decision to provide unity in the left. We will announce DISK`s decision to public. We want to learn the programs of the parties and what kind of a formation they think of.``
Meanwhile, a journalist asked Dervis if he would make his decision on Thursday for the political formation he would join, Dervis said, ``yes, it seems so.``
