ANKARA (A.A) - 10.08.2002 - Record number of people came to Zeugma ancient city and Nemrut Mountain Tumulus, which are one of the most important archaelogical sites of Turkey, this year.
Ministry of Culture said on Saturday that 6,924 persons visited Nemrut Mountain Tumulus in the first six months of 2001, while this number reached 9,928 in the same period this year with a 50 percent increase.
The mosaics recovered from Zeugma ancient city bring many people to Gaziantep museum where the mosaics are displayed. The number of visitors which was 13,127 in the first six months of 2001 increased to 30,000 in the same period in 2002.
