ANKARA (A.A) - 10.08.2002 - Statistics showed that Turkey is a safer country than Germany, Russia or Bulgaria in terms of the ordinary crimes.
According to the information obtained from the Security General Directorate and Interpol, murder rate in Turkey was 0.0035 percent in 2000. In the same year, sexual offenses were 0.0248 percent, pyhsical assault was 0.1269 percent, theft were 2.0534 percent, car theft was 0.0094 percent. Robbery and fraud rates in Germany is quite high.
In 2000, in Germany the murder rate was 0.0034 percent while sexual offenses were 0.0634 percent, pyhical assault was 0.1423 percent, theft was 3.7032 percent and car theft was 0.1011 percent.
In Russia, sexual assault were lower than other countries but this country has a high murder rate. In Bulgaria, last year, the rate of sexual assaults was 0.0122 pecent.
The statisctics show that Azerbaijan is one of the safest countries in the region.
