ANKARA (A.A) - 07.08.2002 - Turkey will hand over the command of Black Sea Naval Cooperation Task Group (Blackseafor) to Ukraine.
A statement of the Naval Forces Command said on Wednesday that the command of Blackseafor and Operational Control (Opblackseafor) would be handed over from Turkey to Ukraine by a ceremony to be held in Sevastopol, Ukraine.
Naval Forces Commander Bulent Alpkaya will attend the change of command ceremony.
TCG Erdemli (M-264) mine counter measures ship will represent Turkey in Blackseafor this year.
In the second activation period which started on August 5 and which will end on August 28, mine war, search and rescue operations are being exercised.
The ships will visit Sevastopol, Ukraine between August 5 and 12, Tuzla, Turkey between August 16 and 18, Constanta, Romania between August 21 and 23 and Varna, Bulgaria between August 21 and 23 as a part of the second activation period.
