Cem: We Will Be Ready For Early Elections

ISTANBUL (A.A) - 30.07.2002 - New Turkey Party (YTP) leader Ismail Cem said, ''the YTP will be ready for the early elections.''
Prior to the ordinary general congress of the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM), State Minister Tunca Toskay, TIM Chairman Oguz Satici, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) Chairman Mehmet Yildirim and Cem held a meeting.
When ITO Chairman Yildirim asked him whether or not the YTP was ready for the early elections, Cem said, ''the YTP will be ready for the early elections.''
Underlining importance of forming the organizational structure, Cem said, ''we can win the elections only with a good organizational structure. However, as a result of technological development, electronic communication of press organs has come to the forefront. When we make a statement at one of the TV channels, we can reach millions of people. It is a great advantage for a newly founded political party.''
When asked, ''State Minister Kemal Dervis for Economy will return to Turkey soon. Will he join the YTP?'' Cem said, ''having regard to State Minister Dervis' statements, I do not have any suspicion. However, I want to reiterate that Turkey needs the renewal process represented by our political party. Therefore, all these things are not at the possession of this or that person.''
