ANKARA (A.A) - 29.07.2002 - Parliamentary Consultative Committee agreed on Monday to take up early elections proposal and bills on adjustment with the European Union (EU) at the relevant commissions within 48 hours.
The committee convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Parliament Speaker Murat Sokmenoglu.
Ismail Kose from the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Beyhan Aslan from the Motherland Party (ANAP), Emrehan Halici from the Democratic Left Party (DSP), Nevzat Ercan from the True Path Party (DYP), Salih Kapusuz from the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), Yasin Hatiboglu from the Felicity Party (SP) and Oguz Aygun from the New Turkey Party (YTP) attended the meeting.
Following the meeting, Sokmenoglu said that they agreed to take up the proposal submitted to the parliament by the MHP to hold the early elections on November 3, 2002, at the relevant commissions within 48 hours.
Meanwhile, bills on adjustment with the EU signed by the ANAP and the SP will also be taken at the relevant commissions within 48 hours.
