Explosion At Akcagaz Facilities Of Tupras In Kocaeli

KOCAELI (A.A) - 28.07.2002 - 28.07.2002 - An explosion took place at the Akcagaz Filling Facilities near Izmit Refinery of Turkish Petroleum Refinery (TUPRAS) on Sunday morning.
Fire started in six of the nine tanks following the explosion and efforts are continuing to prevent the spread of the fire to other tanks.
There is no information yet given about the casualties and TUPRAS personnel and people living abroad are being evacuated.
The cause of the fire isn't known.
