IZNIK (A.A) - 28.07.2002 - This year's excavations in ruins of ancient Rome Theatre started in Iznik town of northwestern Bursa province on Sunday.
The excavation team headed by Uludag University's Associate Professor Bedri Yalman and which is composed of six experts and 20 students, will focus on the stage of the theatre this year.
The theatre which was built by Rome Empiror Trajanus in the second century A.D. and which had a capacity of 15,000 spectators was used until 8th A.D.
