Restoration Of Erzurum Fortress Continues

ERZURUM (A.A) - 28.07.2002 - Erzurum Culture Director Fehmi Bedir has said that the Culture Ministry offered 380 billion TL funds for the restoration of Erzurum Fortress and its surrounding.
Bedir told the A.A on Sunday that Erzurum Fortress was neglected for many years. ''We need regular funding for the expropriation of 100 houses and work places around the fortress to improve the fortress,'' he said.
''The restoration of Erzurum Fortress is a long term project,'' Bedir said. He added that they would receive another 240 billion TL fund before the end of this year for restoration work.
