KAYSERI (A.A) - 27.07.2002 - Central Kayseri province also wants to become a candidate province to host Formula-1 car race which brings an income of 300 million U.S. dollars to the region where it is organized.
Kayseri mayor Mehmet Ozhaseki told A.A on Saturday that Kayseri is the most suitable city to host the car races, adding that the city which has an history of 6,000 years, is also the centre of many civilizations.
''Kayseri has also strong economy, developed industry, international business experience and historical past and draws the attention of foreigners very much,'' said Ozhaseki.
''Kayseri is one of the most suitable province for international organizations with its modern city planning, transportation easiness and its well-founded infrastructure. The Formula-1 races bring a huge income for the place where it is held,'' he said.
He added that they would apply next week to host the races in Kayseri.
