ANKARA (A.A) - 23.07.2002 - Prime Minister and Democratic Left Party (DSP) leader Bulent Ecevit noted on Tuesday, ''allegations saying that I would resign from my post are totally baseless.''
Addressing journalists following his meeting with True Path Party (DYP) leader Tansu Ciller, Prime Minister Ecevit said, ''during the meeting, Ciller conveyed her views about the early elections, the adjustment laws with the European Union (EU), and amendments to the Election Law and the Political Parties Law.''
''The DSP has been opposed to the early elections from the very beginning. However, the DSP's opposing the early election on its own at this point is meaningless. My concerns about possible results of the early elections are continuing,'' he said.
