Ankara Gives A Diplomatic Note To Athens

ANKARA (A.A) - 23.07.2002 - The Foreign Ministry gave a diplomatic note to Athens on Tuesday upon allegations saying that Dursun Karatas, the head of the terrorist Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) spent an important part of the year in Athens, and that he is currently staying in Athens.
Greek Embassy in Ankara Charge d'Affaires Hiristodulos Lazaris was summoned to the Foreign Ministry.
Foreign Ministry conveyed Ankara's sensitivity to Greece.
Responding questions of journalists following the meeting, Lazaris said that he came to the Foreign Ministry for a routine meeting.
He said that they did not have any information about Karatas.
Foreign Ministry officials asked Lazaris to give information about the investigation into terrorist organization November 17.
Lazaris said that they would inform Turkish officials as soon as they got information.
Yesterday, Turkish Embassy in Athens verbally asked Greek officials to give information about the issue.
