A Ceremony Held To Commemorate Chief Rabbi Asseo

ISTANBUL (A.A) - 23.07.2002 - A ceremony was held on Tuesday at Istanbul's Neve Shalom Synagogue after Chief Rabbi David Asseo was laid to rest seven days ago.
Israeli Chief Rabbi Bakshi Doron also attended the ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, Doron said that leading rabbis were trained and wrote important books in Turkey.
Acting Chief Rabbi Ishak Haleva, Jewish Community in Turkey Chairman Bensiyon Pinto, Asseo's daughters Sara ve Fortune, Israeli Deputy Consul in Istanbul Moshe Kamfi and a number of guests were in attendance at the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, Doron visited Asseo's grave in Ulus Jewish Cemetery in Etiler district of Istanbul.
