Torrential Rains Cause Flood In Yozgat

YERKOY (A.A) - 23.07.2002 - Torrential rains which started overnight, paralyzed daily life and traffic in Yerkoy township of central province of Yozgat on Tuesday.
Yerkoy Head Official Sukru Kara told the A.A correspondent that flood waters triggered by torrential rains inundated more than 100 houses.
He said that sewer system of the township collapsed due to the flood.
''Even the government buildings remained under flood waters. We cannot give potable water to our residents. Efforts are under way to repair the network. Flood waters also damaged cultivated fields in the township. However, we are happy that flood disaster did not claim any lives.''
