ANKARA (A.A) - 22.07.2002 - Justice and Development Party (Ak Party) Group Chairman Bulent Arinc said on Monday that his party decided to change the date of the early election which they earlier proposed as October 6 with November 3.
Arinc who reminded the reporters that they called the parliament for an extraordinary meeting on Monday with True Path Party (DYP) said that the first agenda of their calling the parliament to hold an extraordinary meeting was to hold an early election on Nov. 3, 2002 and the second one was to amend Political Parties and Election law.
Arinc stated that they, as Ak Party, considered early election to be held within 3 or 4 months as beneficial and added that's why they decided to change the date of the early election which they earlier proposed as October 6 with November 3.
Arinc defined Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit's statements which he made in a program on TRT on Sunday as ''unfortunate''.
When reminded about the decision of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) to call the parliament for an extraordinary meeting on July 29 and whether or not Ak Party would attend this meeting, he said that they welcomed all callings for election.
