S.P. Presents Censure Motion Against Government

ANKARA (A.A) - 19.07.2002 - Felicity Party (SP) presented on Friday a censure motion against the government.
In the censure motion, SP claimed that the government ''had lost absolute majority and its legitimacy was under discussion.''
SP group acting leader Yasin Hatiboglu said that they wanted the parliament to called for an extraordinary meeting on July 25, 2002 in order to discuss the censure motion.
Hatiboglu noted that number of SP deputies was not sufficient for call for extraordinary session of the parliament and that they would hold contacts with other parties.
However, Parliament Speaker Omer Izgi could use his authority, Hatiboglu stated.
Upon a question, Hatiboglu said that they would not support the demand of the True Path Party (DYP) and Justice and Development Party (AK Party) which called on the parliament for an extraordinary meeting on July 22, 2002.
