ANKARA (A.A) - 16.07.2002 - Leaders of three political parties forming the coalition government reached a full consensus of opinion on Tuesday to hold early elections on November 3, 2002.
A written statement was released following an hour-long meeting at the Prime Ministry Residence.
The statement said that State Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahceli; State Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Motherland Party (ANAP) leader Mesut Yilmaz; and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sukru Sina Gurel came together under the chairmanship of Prime Minister and Democratic Left Party (DSP) leader Bulent Ecevit, and they assessed recent developments.
''At the end of the assessments, leaders of coalition partners have reached a full consensus of opinion to hold early elections on November 3. They also decided to inform their party boards,'' the statement added.
