LEFKOSA (A.A) - 16.07.2002 - Two prisoners fled from prison in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to the Greek Cypriot side.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Tuesday that prisoners Mustafa Yildizcoban and Mustafa Gomulu were taken to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoglu State Hospital in Lefkosa on July 10 from Lefkosa Central Prison.
They jumped out from window of the hospital, and fled to the Greek Cypriot side.
The prisoners were arrested and sent to prison in the Greek Cypriot side.
TRNC Foreign Affairs and Defense Ministry is expected to launch an initiative at the United Nations Peace Forces.
Yildizcoban was sentenced to imprisonment on charges of killing journalist Sertac Gorguner three years ago while Gomulu was sentenced to imprisonment on charges of shooting a person.
