Izgi Calls Parliament For Extraordinary Meeting

ANKARA (A.A) - 15.07.2002 - Parliament Speaker Omer Izgi called on Monday Parliament for an extraordinary meeting on Sept. 1, 2002 at 15.00 local time upon the request of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP).
Izgi evaluated the request of 125 MHP deputies calling for emergency session, and sent his decision to party groups.
The parliament will convene on September 1, 2002 at 15.00 local time, Izgi said in his letter.
MHP deputies had noted in their petition dated on July 10, 2002 that the general elections had to be held on November 3, 2002 and they called the parliament to convene on Sept. 1 to discuss this issue.
