ANKARA (A.A) - 12.07.2002 - State Minister for Economy Kemal Dervis met on Friday with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Turkey Desk Chief Juha Kahkonen.
Treasury Undersecretary Faik Oztrak and IMF Turkey Representative Odd Per Brekk also attended the meeting which lasted for nearly an hour.
It was reported that Kahkonen asked Dervis whether or not uncertainty would continue long, and the probable effects of this on program and interest rates.
Dervis said all necessary measures were taken in economy, stressing that this situation would not negatively economic program much. He particularly stressed that there was not a risk in economic growth.
IMF delegation is also expected to hold contacts in Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency and Privatization Administration.
State Minister Dervis is expected to proceed to Istanbul this evening.
