Kutan: New Government Formulas Can't Be Discussed As Long As Ecevit Stays In Power

ANKARA (A.A) - 09.07.2002 - Felicity Party (SP) leader Recai Kutan said on Tuesday that new government formulas can't be discussed as long as Prime Minister Ecevit stays in power.
''There is a prime minister for the moment, I can't propose anybody for the post of prime ministry under these circumstances,'' said Kutan.
The SP Chairmanship Council convened under the leadership of Kutan the same day.
Responding to questions of journalists, Kutan said that dissolution started in DSP and the party was almost divided into two.
''We will see what Ecevit will do within 1-2 days,'' said Kutan and noted that early elections should be held. Yet a new election law has to be adopted first, Kutan said, adding that the relations with EU have to be improved.
