Halici: How Rightful We Have Been About Our Concerns And Doubts Has Been Proved

ANKARA (A.A) - 09.07.2002 - Democratic Left Party (DSP) group acting chairman Emrehan Halici said on Tuesday that how rightful they had been about their concerns and doubts had been proved.
Following the resignations from DSP, Halici, State Minister Sukru Sina Gurel, Forestry Minister Nami Cagan, Environment Minister Fevzi Aytekin, DSP deputy leaders Tayfun Icli and Zeki Sezer, and 50 DSP deputies had a meeting at DSP headquarters.
Following the meeting, Halici told reporters that they had earlier expressed some concerns, doubts and question marks.
Halici said, ''how rightful we have been about our concerns and doubts has been proved. Also, we get responses to our questions and doubts one by one.''
Asked if the party would have a meeting under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit in coming days, Halici said, ''DSP is always having such meetings and evaluating the situation. I think that we will have such a meeting tomorrow. But, these recent developments are not a surprise. It is interesting that the issues we have some doubts about have been illuminated. We talked about some scenarios and intrigues. Today's behaviours and statements of some of our friends clarify these scenarios.''
When asked how the resignations would affect the government and if the Prime Minister would have a meeting with his coalition partners, Halici said, ''of course, it is not possible to say anything at the moment. All the parties, particularly our party, will evaluate developments.''
Some deputies claimed that the number of deputies who would resign from DSP could be around 25-30 and said that this number could increase according to attitude of Foreign Minister Ismail Cem.
