Yahnici: There Has Been Compelling In D.S.P.

ANKARA (A.A) - 08.07.2002 - Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) deputy leader Sevket Bulent Yahnici said on Monday that there had been compelling in Democratic Left Party (DSP) when commenting on the resignations from DSP.
Asked how the government would be affected by recent developments, Yahnici noted that it was not possible to say anything hastily and said that the MHP Central Executive Board would convene on Tuesday. He said that they would make an evaluation and the issue was multi-dimensional.
Yahnici continued, ''the first dimension is that the early elections which was voiced by Devlet Bahceli has to be evaluated. We should evaluate this well. The other issue is the situation that the DSP is currently experiencing. These two are connected with each other.''
''Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit's attitude about whether or not to maintain the government is important. If he continues the government, what will the conditions be? If DSP says that it will continue to be in the government, it has said that November 3 was not a suitable day for elections. But, how they will evaluate this election date after today's developments is a question mark,'' Yahnici added.
Yahnici claimed that Turkey was facing a very complicated equation and said that solution of this equation depended on attitude of people and parties.
To this end, Yahnici said, they had to wait and there was nothing they could do than waiting at this moment.
Yahnici pointed out that the situation was clear in regard to MHP.
When a reporter reminded him that the number of deputies of DSP was below that of MHP and asked how this situation would affect the government, Yahnici said, ''these estimations do not suit MHP. However, we will evaluate new conditions and situations.''
Asked if there was a possibility of going for an election with a different government, Yahnici said, ''this depends on the decision of the Prime Minister. What will the decision of the Prime Minister be? How will this decision be reflected to us? How will we evaluate it? All these may or may not put forth searches for a new government. If he says that we should continue to be in the office, designate three or four new ministers and continue to rule the country till November 3, then we will maintain the government. We do not know what will happen.''
