D.S.P. Is Melting And This Causes Serious Problems

KIRIKKALE (A.A) - 08.07.2002 - Felicity Party (SP) leader Recai Kutan said on Monday that Democratic Left Party (DSP) was melting when commenting on resignations from that party.
Responding to questions of reporters, Kutan said that DSP was melting and this caused serious problems for DSP, for other ruling political parties and for the government.
Kutan continued, ''I think that the number of deputies who have resigned so far has reached 20. There were some hesitations at first about if the early election proposal of MHP could be supported sufficiently by DSP and Motherland Party (ANAP). However, such conditions have occured that it has become difficult for the government to stand on its feet. Thus, an election has become an obligation.''
SP believed that conditions for an early election had occured before, Kutan said.
Kutan noted that SP could propose that the parliament should convene on August 1, adding that the parliament had to convene in order to amend Political Parties Law and Election Law, pass laws in the path of the European Union (EU) and take a decision for an early election.
