ANKARA (A.A) - 08.07.2002 - Democratic Left Party (DSP) headquarters is having a busy day marked by resignations of some ministers and parliamentarians.
State Minister Sukru Sina Gurel, Forest Minister Nami Cagan, DSP Group Acting Chairman Emrehan Halici, Deputy Chairman Zeki Sezer, General accountant Mecit Sekercioglu, and some parliamentarians came to DSP Headquarters in the evening hours.
Responding to the questions of reporters, Gurel said he did not want to make an evaluation about the resignations, pointing out that, ''we will make an evaluation inside the headquarters.''
Forest Minister Cagan, while evaluating the resignations, said, ''things continue. We will talk about the result afterwards.''
Istanbul Parliamentarian Ziya Aktas said, ''it will be a lie if I say I am not sorry. However, we attribute importance to change. I hope it will be beneficial for DSP.''
THREE MINISTERS AND 18 DEPUTIES RESIGN FROM DSP SO FAR
Following the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister Husamettin Ozkan, Culture Minister Istemihan Talay, State Minister Recep Onal announced their resignations. This was followed by the resignations of Parliament Acting Group Acting Chairman Ali Iliksoy and deputies Cihan Yazar, Bahri Sipahi, Hakan Tartan, Tamer Kanber, Abdulsamet Turgut, Faruk Demir, Gaffar Yakin, Zeki Eker, Akif Serin, Mustafa Kemal Tugmaner, Tunay Dikmen, Perihan Yilmaz, Hasan Ozgobe, Aydin Dikmen, Ibrahim Yavuz Bildik, Hasan Giray, and Gonul Saray Alphan.
