Global And Templeton Submits Its Second Bid For Toprakbank

ISTANBUL (A.A) - 08.07.2002 - The consortium including Templeton Strategic Emerging Markets Fund managed by Global Securities and Mark Mobius submitted its second bid to the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) for Toprakbank.
Sending a statement to the Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB) on Monday, Global Securities said that the consortium comprising Templeton Strategic Emerging Markets Fund LDC, Avrasya Investment Holding, Sancak Investments and Global Securities presented its second bid to the BRSA late on Friday for purchase of Toprakbank managed by the Savings Deposits Insurance Fund (SDIF).
The Global Securities consortium which found previous bids for purchase of Toprakbank from the SDIF insufficient submitted letter of intent on May 30, 2002 for its new initiative which does not include Greek bank.
