Bahceli: Let's Have Early Elections

KELES (A.A) - 07.07.2002 - Deputy Prime Minister, State Minister and the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Devlet Bahceli said on Sunday that ''Let's call the parliament for an extraordinary meeting on September 1 and take a decision for early elections on September 3. Let's hold the elections on November 3.''
Speaking to the press about the debate on early elections in Bursa, Bahceli said that the foreign exchange rates, interest rates increase despite the positive developments in macro economic indicators.
Bahceli said that certain internal and external circles target new political formations by forming speculations in a period when the government and the prime minister are in charge, adding that ''if there is political indefiniteness in Turkey and if this is seen as the factor that prevents the successful implementation of the economic programme, let's call the parliament to an extraordinary meeting on September 1. Let's take a decision for early elections on September 3 and hold the elections on Nov. 3.''
