LONDON (A.A) - 07.07.2002 - Famous historians and academicians of the world will attend the International Committee of Pre-Ottoman and Ottoman Studies 15th Symposium on July 8-12, in London.
The symposium will start at Britain's London School of Economics. Prof. Salahi Sonyel, Prof. Ilber Ortayli, Prof. Sina Aksin, Prof. Kemal Karpat and Orhan Kologlu are among the participants of the meeting.
The academicians will debate a wide range of subjects covering art history, political history and social and cultural activities in the Ottoman Empire.
The committee has been holding meetings once every two years since 1972. The meetings were organized in Naples, Hambourg, Minneapolis, Jerusalem, Ankara, Prag and Budapest so far.
Turkish Ambassador to London Korkmaz Haktanir will host a reception to CIEPO participants tomorrow night at the Turkish Embassy in London.
