ANKARA (A.A) - 03.07.2002 - State Minister Kemal Dervis for Economy said on Wednesday the Labor Platform's proposal for ''postponement of the state's debts'' should not be thought of in Turkey.
Releasing a statement, Dervis said that some news which had been published after his meeting with officials from some labor unions last night included serious mistakes.
Noting that they had exchanged opinion on every issue about the economy during the meeting, Dervis said, ''meanwhile, also the Emek Platform's proposal for postponement of the state's debts have also been discussed and officials of labor unions have been told that some countries had postponed the state's debts but such a method could not be beneficial to those states.''
''It has been stressed that implementation of such a method should not even be thought of in Turkey and the economy management do not see such proposals by the Emek Platform appropriate,'' he said.
