ANKARA (A.A) - 25.06.2002 - Devlet Bahceli, the State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, said on Tuesday that they have never considered the European Union (EU), any other international relation or a project from the point of religious belief.
Speaking at the group meeting of his party, Bahceli said wrong and intentional criticisms toward his party continued regarding the EU, stressing that those people, who get used to be the inspector of MHP, continued to question his party.
''Those circles should know that we will not be bored of discussing Turkey policies of the EU administration, and oppose against the planned and hidden intents,'' Bahceli said.
Bahceli said their decision and fundamental point of view were certain and would not change.
Bahceli said there was a view in Turkish-EU relations that problems always stemmed from Turkey, stressing that, ''most of the time the relations turned into a dialogue in which the sides could not understand each other. Sometimes the relations came to a point of disruption, and from time to time they created unnecessary expectations in society.''
Bahceli said, ''as the MHP, our fundamental belief and view pertaining to EU membership is that, National Action Movement will accept as a national assignment for itself to make necessary warnings to our European interlocutors to cover a more open, honest and determined policy against Turkey's membership.''
