NEW YORK (A.A) - 25.06.2002 - The first Turkish art gallery ''Gallery X'' in New York decided to open a branch in Istanbul.
The gallery was founded by Gulsun Erbil four years ago in Harlem district of New York causing great interest among Turks and Americans.
Erbil said that she decided to open a branch in Istanbul by believing in the general view that Istanbul would be the new art centre of Europe in the coming period.
''Even if Germans say that they want to make Berlin the art capital of Europe; Americans, French people and Italians give more chance to Istanbul,'' she said adding that the branch in Istanbul would probably open in September.
