ANKARA (A.A) - 22.06.2002 - Prime Ministry Press Spokesman Cem Avci said on Saturday that allegations which claimed that Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit was suffering another broken rib were totally baseless.
Speaking to reporters, Avci said that Ecevit was resting upon the advise of Baskent University Hospital doctors.
''A newspaper claims today that 'Ecevit suffers another broken rib' was wrong. The Prime Minister is now resting upon advise of the Baskent University Hospital doctors. It has been affirmed during our meeting with his doctors today that the Prime Minister is in good condition,'' Avci said.
Meanwhile, sources said that Avci made this statement after meeting with Baskent University Hospital's Department of Neurology Chairman Prof.Dr. Turgut Zileli upon Prime Minister Ecevit's instructions.
