International Aspendos Opera And Ballet Festival Continues

ANKARA (A.A) - 23.06.2002 - The Ninth International Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival continues.
Giuseppe Verdi's opera ''La Traviata'' based on the novel and play 'La Dame aux Camelias' (The Lady of Camellias) by Alexandre Dumas will be performed by Antalya State Opera and Ballet on June 25. The opera tells the story of Marie Duplessis, the most celebrated courtesan in Paris. Her love affair with Armand Duvall results in her death.
Istanbul State Opera and Ballet will take the stage with the opera ''Murat IV'' on June 27.
The ancient theatre of Aspendos will host Uzbek Nevai Theatre Bolshoi Ballet Society on June 29.
Spanish Naional Ballet will perform ''Fuenteovejuna'' composed by Anton Garcia Abril and Modest P. Mussorgski on July 1 and 2.
Mersin State Opera and Ballet will perform Giacomo Puccini's famous ballet ''Tosca'' on July 4.
The festival will end on July 6 with Sergei Prokofiev's ''Romeo and Juliet'' based on the play by William Shakespeare. The ballet will be performed by Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
