ANKARA (A.A) - 20.06.2002 - Interior Minister Rustu Kazim Yucelen sent a letter to German Interior Minister Otto Schily and said extradition of Metin Kaplan was very important for Turkey.
The letter, which was sent to Schily on June 10, 2002, said Yucelen would be extremely pleased over signing of Cooperation Agreement in Fight Against Terrorism between the two countries.
Yucelen said extradition of Metin Kaplan to Turkey, the head of the ''Islamic Community-Denominational Vision to Turkey'', which launched activities aiming to set up a regime in Turkey based on Shariah, should be provided in a way which will meet the needs of the country.
Yucelen said extradition of all terrorists to Turkey was very important for public, stressing that Kaplan and his supporters could not be excluded from those.
Yucelen said the two countries could reach a consensus with a harmonized method and the legal order, noting that they could search for ways to remove obstacles regarded with extradition and deportation in a meeting of experts that would take place in Berlin.
