ANKARA (A.A) - 20.06.2002 - Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit will not attend the parliamentary group meeting of the Democratic Left Party (DSP) on Thursday.
After undergoing his routine check-up, Prime Minister Ecevit released a statement through his spokesman Cem Avci.
In his statement, Prime Minister Ecevit said that he would not attend the parliamentary group meeting of the DSP, and continue to rest at his working office for a while upon recommendation of his doctors.
Prime Minister Ecevit added that his scheduled meeting with True Path Party (DYP) leader Tansu Ciller was cancelled due to same reasons.
Avci said that Prime Minister Ecevit would call President Ahmet Necdet Sezer later in the day within the framework of his daily talks.
Noting that Prime Minister Ecevit was in good health condition and would continue to rest for a while, Avci said that Prime Minister Ecevit held a telephone conversation with DSP Deputy Group Chairman Emrehan Halici about the parliamentary group meeting of the DSP.
